Douglas Nutrition has a long heritage in high quality pharmaceutical manufacture and Mother and Baby nutrition. Our foundations are with Sir Graeme Douglas who started Douglas Pharmaceuticals in 1967 which has grown to be the largest private pharmaceutical company in New Zealand with a worldwide business and an enviable reputation.

The company’s initial interest in Mother and Baby nutrition and wellbeing was in 1985 when Sir Graeme launched Karicare and followed that with the launch of Douglas Nutrition and Puria® as an affiliate of Douglas Pharmaceuticals in 2012. Douglas Nutrition and Puria® provide a single focus on Mother and Baby nutrition and wellbeing products.

Douglas Nutrition was divested in 2017; with external investment brought into Douglas Nutrition to allow it to continue to build on its foundations of developing new nutrition products for the wellbeing of the family.
